The AT in Georgia

For those who want to experience the best hiking Georgia has to offer, but might not know how to find it.

Here’s how…

One Day at a Time

I wrote a book…

It’s for those, who like me, love the outdoors. For those who love hiking, but can't block out large swaths of time to experience some of the best hiking in the Southeast. For those who are intrigued by the idea of hiking the AT, but are intimidated by walking 2100+ miles. For those who want to experience more of what the southern Appalachians have to offer. This book is for those who're looking for more solitude, but finding it less.

What you’ll find inside:

  • Maps of the entire AT in Georgia divided into 16 different day hikes & links to online maps

  • Data and charts about each section to help you pick the right section

  • Links to digital maps and other content

  • Directions on how to get to the trailhead for each section

  • Tips that will help you prepare for your hikes

  • A personal journal of my experience hiking each section

  • BONUS: A dash of my dry, snarky humor sprinkled throughout (No, I don’t take myself too seriously.)

This is me.

The Appalachian Trail is over 2100 miles long. I find that thrilling. And intimidating. Its legacy is known far and wide and the lives it has changed are innumerable. And I wanted to experience it.

But I have a family, and a job, and I can't put all that on hold for the better part of a year to hike the entirety of that amazing national treasure.

So, I decided to bite off a chunk that I did think I could do and, well... do it:

Hike the AT in Georgia, one day at a time.

I live in the Metro Atlanta area and work for a software company based out of Nashville. But in my off-times, I'm drawn to the outdoors: running, hiking, fly fishing, camping. I'm happiest on my feet. (As a matter of fact, if I'm not sleeping, there's a good chance that I'm standing up right now.)

Oh yeah... and that's my wife. She's incredible. I aspire to be more like her.
